Transport for London hires new CIO
Former British Energy IT chief takes the helm
Ian Campbell has taken the reins at Transport for London
Transport for London (TfL) has appointed Ian Campbell as its new chief information officer (CIO).
Since last month, Campbell has been managing a mammoth IT portfolio which includes the technology supporting the capital’s underground, bus and overground networks, as well as the Docklands Light Railway and the construction of Crossrail.
Campbell latest IT leadership post was at British Energy, where he was the CIO. His experience also includes ‘top-level’ roles at Cambridge Assessment (the examinations board) and Royal Mail.
“I am delighted to have joined TfL at this critical time in the delivery of its hugely ambitious investment programme to upgrade and expand London’s transport network,” said Campbell.
“I will be working with TfL colleagues to ensure that we are managing our data to support the business requirements of all users.”
