New Naked Wines web site lets customers save money by pre-ordering
Drinkers can pre-order their favourite tipple months before it ships
Naked wines launches pre-order system
Online wine retailer Naked Wines has today launched a new version of its web site, which allows customers to pre-order wines up to six months in advance.
The company said the new pre-ordering feature could save the company up to 70 per cent on its costs, and the saving will be passed on to the customer.
The new system means that customers who order before production will get the best price, and the closer the wine gets to the UK before order, the higher the costs will be.
The company said that the system allows winemakers to plan in advance, reducing wastage and storage costs as orders can be sent out as soon as they are produced.
Naked Wine has a team of in-house Web 2.0 developers who made the required improvements to the web site using open-source software.
