Oracle releases PeopleSoft Enterprise Financial Management 9

Oracle's Enterprise Financial Management tool release boosts functionality

Oracle has this week announced the availability of PeopleSoft Enterprise Financial Management 9, the latest incarnation of its finance and reporting tool. The release continues the firm’s push into business intelligence analytics.

Enterprise Financial Management 9 boosts the tool’s financial accounting, asset lifecycle management and enterprise service automation functionality, the firm said. New features include the expansion of its use of web services - over 200 web services have been integrated, letting firms improve the interoperation of their applications - and integration with Oracle’s Fusion Middleware, such as XML Publisher and Business Process Execution Language (BPEL) Process Manager.

The additional BPEL features will let users integrate processes across a number of applications, while Publisher will let them produce reports in a wide range of desktop application formats. Oracle said that this would let firms quickly and easily produce user-friendly and richly formatted reports.

Oracle said that the additions to the software were a continuation of its “Applications Anywhere” push, which sees it enhancing its current application products.
