Scottish Widows invests in integration
SOA software will support plans to improve IT efficiency
The software will improve integration at the financial services group
Pensions and savings firm Scottish Widows has signed a software purchase contract to better integrate its IT applications as part of a technology-led efficiency plan.
The subsidiary of Lloyds Banking Group will use integration tools from supplier Progress Software to boost customer services by improving management and governance of its business transformation infrastructure. The project is also intended to allow Scottish Widows to launch products to the market faster.
The service-oriented architecture toolset from Progress was chosen after a 20-month review process and is designed to improve application integration at the financial services firm.
“In the current economic climate it’s important that we’re operating as efficiently as possible. Technology lies at the heart of this strategy,” said William Carmichael, principal application and technology architect at Scottish Widows.
“This [project] will make an important contribution to ensuring that Scottish Widows customers and stakeholders continue to receive the highest level of efficiency that the market can offer.”
