Domino's Pizza enhances online traffic monitoring
New system aims to avoid downtime for customers placing orders over the web
Domino's Pizza has seen a spike in online orders
Domino's Pizza has rolled out an online traffic management system to avoid downtime during peak ordering times.
The pizza delivery company decided to deploy the software after an increase in traffic following a series of online marketing campaigns.
Through implementing the software, Domino's aimed to maintain high service levels and reduce the likelihood of customers abandoning purchases due to slow web responses, said Phil Thompson, IT infrastructure manager at Domino's Pizza.
“The success of our franchises hinge on offering customers the very best level of service whether that be in-store, over the telephone or online,” said Thompson.
“Many of our customers prefer ordering online and will spend on average 20 per cent more than they would in-store, so having the technology in place to deliver a consistent level of service is hugely important.”
