ID management enhanced

Imprivata has updated its OneSign ID management product

Access management specialist Imprivata has launched the latest version of its flagship OneSign identity management product, extending its single sign-on capabilities (SSO) and allowing organisations to implement stronger network authentication.

OneSign 3.5 includes support for UPEK biometric device readers that are built into some Dell Latitude and Lenovo Thinkpad laptops, and remote access authentication capabilities, according to Imprivata chief executive Omar Hussain.

"A lot of access management solutions are complicated and take months to get up and running," he explained. "In every release we try to bring a richer set of functionality that our customers are asking for. The reason companies haven't added strong authentication in the past is because it's too complicated and expensive."

The company has also made several enhancements to OneSign's SSO capabilities. These include the ability to extend SSO to organisations which do not use corporate domain directories, or users which exist outside these directories, such as transient workers, Hussain added.
