New business phone from O2 offers battery life over advanced functionality

O2 has launched a new business phone offering easy access to basic functions plus a long battery life. The O2 Jet, available now, bucks the trend towards multi-function corporate smartphones by focusing chiefly on voice.

The quad-band handset has a colour screen with a simplified user interface and its batteries enable up to 9.9 hours of talk time and 540 hours on standby, O2 said.

Features include dedicated buttons to turn the ringer on and off, control handset volume and activate Bluetooth. A special protective case also makes the handset extra durable. Although voice-centric, the Jet features GPRS data support and can link to POP3 and Imap email accounts.

The O2 Jet is available at a range of prices, depending on the monthly tariff.
