IBM named as favourite for Lottery contract
IBM will provide Camelot with server and storage services
Camelot has named IBM as a preferred supplier to provide technology and software should it win a third licence to operate The National Lottery.
IBM will provide Camelot with server and storage services to power the next generation of lottery central systems if Camelot wins, to commence in 2009.
Dianne Thompson, Camelot chief executive, said: ‘The National Lottery is a hugely complex operation embracing traditional retail outlets, the internet, mobile phones, interactive TV – and even more platforms in the third licence period. IBM’s expertise will be a major factor in making the lottery run smoothly.’
