New tools for registrars to accelerate mobile internet

DotMobi to launch new initiative to boost the pervasiveness of the mobile net

DotMobi, the registry for mobile web sites, will next week launch a new program for registrars and resellers designed to encourage firms to speed up their move to the mobile internet.

Go Mobile! features Dev.mobi, a resource for developers that includes tools, applications and online training courses designed to help them develop better quality mobile content. Also included are marketing guides and Ready.mobi, a tool that analyses a site and then reports on how well it will perform on a mobile device.

"The most important thing is that we have an industry of resellers building mobile tools built around the dotMobi standards, like GoDaddy," explained dotMobi chief executive Neil Edwards. "Go Mobile! is a comprehensive program to help the internet channel move to mobility sooner rather than later."

At the 3GSM event next week, the firm will also announce the first major operator to go live with its dotMobi business and consumer strategy, he added.
