Helly Hansen overhauls network
Outdoor clothing firm opts for managed MPLS offering
Helly Hansen, manufacturer of outdoor clothing and survival products, is to use a managed IP network to connect sites around the world.
The company has will rely on the MPLS network to provide secure connections between its headquarters in Olso, Norway with offices in the UK, US, Canada, China, Italy and the Netherlands.
Verizon Business will install and manage the network and also provide a secure gateway.
Helly Hansen's 700 staff will use the network to access business critical applications including enterprise resource planning systems and videoconferencing.
The company says its network capacity will increase dramatically when the new infrastructure is in place, and will be able to support existing and future voice and data needs.
Helly Hansen is also trialling a voice over IP system from Verizon at its Oslo officer and hopes to roll it out to the rest of its sites at some point in the future.
Einar Lonnum, chief information officer at Helly Hansen said: 'The managed IP network gives us peace of mind in terms of both service level agreements and a helpdesk service that actively monitors the wide area network lines 24/7, helping us to keep our business operational around-the-clock.'
