The hacker sent explicit messages to Coffey's social media followers

Therese Coffey, Tory MP for Suffolk Coastal, has been the victim of a hacking attack. The attackers posted sexually explicit messages and comments to her social media followers, after gaining access to her Blog, Facebook and Twitter account details, according to the London Spin political blog.

The comments were highly derogatory, and included remarks about David Cameron’s wife and other senior female figures. Coffey has become aware of the problem and is now regaining control of her social media accounts, but said last night she was still unable to access her Twitter account.

“Apologies to everyone. My account has been hacked. Hopefully back under control now. I have the email address of the person who has hacked in, so hopefully I can do something about it,” Coffey posted on Facebook.

“Not a nice time in the last hour - hopefully I can trace who did this,” she posted on her blog.

The hacker in control of Coffey’s Twitter account has now fired a warning to founder and editor of the ConservativeHome web site, Tim Montgomerie, claiming that he’s next.
