Suppliers sought to run Gateway
Cabinet Office looking for replacements for parts of cancelled True North project
The Cabinet Office is looking for suppliers to host and run the UK Government Gateway secure transaction service.
The Gateway provides multiple departments and agencies with a common authentication and transaction infrastructure.
The deal was part of the £83m True North project cancelled by the government in June last year.
True North was to consolidate three services, including the Gateway, into a single data centre, but the contract with supplier ITNET was terminated.
Under the new deal, expected to be signed in the spring, the winning supplier will act as a managed service provider for the Gateway for five years.
