Crown Golf to install Cognos software

Europe's largest owner and operator of golf courses is overhauling its budgeting and planning systems to generate more accurate financial reports.

Crown Golf is installing applications from vendor Cognos to replace previous Excel-based processes.

Services firm Inca is installing and supporting the Cognos Planning applications which will be used for budgeting and reporting covering Crown's 31 UK golf and leisure facilities.

Crown believes the technology will allow it to generate faster and much more accurate monthly financial reports.

'High on our priority list was to find a proprietary application, which could be fully supported with data integrity and ease of use for the senior management teams and general managers at each of Crown?s properties,' said Gwyn Hicks, financial controller at Crown Golf.

The Cognos technology will work alongside existing systems from Great Plains and FRx systems and support Crown's rapidly expanding business.
