Fat Face extends supply chain functionality

Retailer improves stock allocation and replenishment with system upgrade

Fat Face's upgraded supply chain platform should improve stock replenishment

Clothing retailer Fat Face has upgraded its supply chain platform with extra functionality intended to improve its stock allocation and replenishment.

The firm had already been using software provided by Prologic for supply chain management and rolled out the newest version following a business systems review.

With the upgraded platform, Fat Face is now able to set up highly flexible grading structures and model initial allocations prior to product dispatch, which is then followed with enhanced replenishment algorithms.

“The new functionality contained within this upgraded version has significantly improved our grading, allocation and replenishment processes, to the extent that the time spent setting up both gradings and allocations has been halved,” said Simon Shutt, merchandise manager at Fat Face.

“The return on investment has begun immediately – using the new functionality, we have been able to free up resources for value-adding tasks, improving our stock allocation accuracy and ensuring that the correct lines and levels of stock are in the right places,” said Shutt.

“This will lead us to increased full-price sales, lower markdowns and a higher achieved margin.”
