Mosaic Fashions installs high speed network

Broadband improves transfer of sales data for retailer

Mosaic Fashions improves its communications network

Mosaic Fashions, the parent company of clothing retailers Karen Millen, Coast and Oasis, has installed a communications network to link more than 650 high-street shops.

It is linking its stores using high speed broadband, enabling the fast transfer of sales data, till support and introduction of voice-over-IP to improve customer service.

Mosaic will be able to process transactions faster, stream high volumes of data between shops and share knowledge, says IT director John Bovill.

‘We decided to take a fresh approach to our network and to streamline communication between stores,’ he said. ‘The speed of delivery of sales data, transactions and applications now means that each brand is more efficient.'

‘As the deployment matures, we will extend it to our stores in Ireland and Europe, with the network also capable of providing video streaming, CCTV streaming and e-learning.’

Mosaic Fashions needed a highly resilient infrastructure due to the high number of stores dependent on accessing online sales information, says Bovill.

The network provided by Thus and Vodat will also allow it to reduce operational costs while increasing profitability and productivity.
