Sage appoints new CEO
Business management software provider appoints Guy Berruyer to take the helm
Berruyer will take up his post on 1 October
Business management software provider Sage has appointed Guy Berruyer as its new group chief executive.
Berruyer is currently CEO of Sage’s Mainland Europe and Asia operations and will succeed Paul Walker as group chief executive on 1 October. Walker will remain with Sage until December 2010.
Berruyer joined Sage in 1997 to head the firm’s French operation. He was appointed to the board of directors at the beginning of 2000. Before joining Sage he held the position of European director for US software company Intuit.
“Guy has a strong track record of profit growth, both organically and through the successful acquisition and integration of companies,” said Anthony Hobson, chairman of the Sage Group.
However, the company’s shares slipped one per cent when the software company confirmed reports that Walker would be stepping down.
