Distributor motors ahead with supply chain software
New software supports rapid growth at Jack Pennington
Jack Pennington, a distributor of electrical and mechanical parts to contractors and individuals, is using new software to manage its supply chain and delivery.
The software will help it efficiently manage its warehousing and processing to provide fast and accurate delivery and support its expansion plans.
Operations director Simon Mettrick says it will manage its supply chain, logistics, deliveries and customer relationship management functions.
‘We are a fast-growing company and recognised that we needed a system built on a modern architecture and where we could see future development plans,’ he said.
He says the company’s existing systems were not providing the flexibility and capabilities it needed.
Jack Pennington chose Maginus software for its deep functionality and tight control over back office processes. Customers often require products urgently and its back office systems have to support the extremely quick turnaround of orders.
The software provides extensive control over the order-to-fulfilment process and also delivers greater access to information through a range of reporting tools.
Maginus supports multi-channel processes and Jack Pennington now plans to launch a new web site this year.
