Daks refits IT infrastructure
Clothing retailer replaces IT systems to support global expansion
Luxury clothing retailer Daks is using new retail management and point-of-sale software to manage stock across its UK shops and manage its planned expansion into Europe.
The menswear, womenswear and accessories retailer replaced existing IT infrastructure with Eurostop’s WinPOS electronic tills and WinRMIS retail management system.
Daks wanted to replace its previous system because it could be adapted to meet its changing requirements and its current expansion into Germany.
Data is sent in real time via broadband from branch tills to Daks’ head office, enabling management to view sales data immediately.
Stock can also be managed from the head office and Daks can use stock and sales data to improve customer service during targeted promotions.
Daks spokesman Jonathan Robb says it was important to get the right approach to in-store systems.
‘The increased visibility of data and the ease with which we can now generate a huge number of reports is tremendous,’ he said. ‘We are excited at the opportunities it will give us both with improved customer service and reporting capabilities.’
Daks also plans to use the multi-currency and language ability that Eurostop provides to enable use of the retail management system in its Munich store and a shop soon to be opened in Italy.
