Brewing giant signs €70m IT outsourcing contract
LogicaCMG picks up IT application deal
Brewing giant InBev has awarded LogicaCMG a €70m (£48.4m) IT outsourcing contract to manage technology applications across Western Europe.
The brewery – which makes drinks brands including Stella, Beck's and Leffe – expects to streamline processes across Europe as part of the five year deal.
LogicaCMG will support and manage business systems at the brewer's global headquarters and across other sites in Western Europe. Some 70 staff at InBev will move to LogicaCMG as part of the contract.
'Through this contract with LogicaCMG, InBev will be able to achieve a more consistent approach to its IT services across a number of European countries,' said Claudio Garcia, chief information and services officer at InBev.
'It will allow InBev to manage its Western European and Global Headquarters’ Business Systems and applications services at an optimal cost while maintaining strong service levels,' he said.
The contract will cover IT applications in the UK, Belgium, Germany, France, The Netherlands, Italy, Ireland and Luxemburg.
Last July, InBev announced a number of other IT contracts with IBM and BT. IBM was awarded a €250m deal to manage the brewer's technology infrastructure in 25 countries in Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific.
BT was also awarded a €175m, seven-year contract to manage data networks and telecommunications services.
