Regatta sails ahead with retail rollout

Outdoor clothing brand is introducing new touchscreen tills

Outdoor clothing brand Regatta is rolling out electronic touchscreen tills across all its shops after a trial improved in-store service and processing.

The rollout of state-of-the-art tills is also designed to provide detailed management reports and prepare the clothing chain for its planned expansion.

Regatta opted for WinTillsoftware running on Epson’s all-in-one touchscreen system, the IR-700. The system is designed to be intuitive and easy-to-use and replaces a previous keyboard-based system.

‘The new system is definitely an improvement on what we had previously,’ said retail support co-ordinator Melanie Jones. ‘The software gives us fast access to reports such as sales, stock, banking reconciliation, VAT analysis and assistant takings.

‘As a result, we can see exactly what each individual store’s best sellers are and plan accordingly.’

The tills are also compact, all-in-one designs to save on counter space.

The tills were piloted at Regatta’s Fleetwood outlet and are being rolled out to the rest of the company’s shops at a rate of two per week.
