Rolls-Royce signs engineering partnership with TCS

Tata Consultancy Services will provide British aircraft manufacturer with a range of engineering services

Aircraft engine maker RollsRoyce looks to expand its capabilities in India

UK-based Rolls-Royce has announced a global engineering partnership with business solutions and outsourcing technology firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). TCS will provide Rolls-Royce with a range of technical and engineering services across its entire product portfolio.

TCS will support Rolls-Royce’s strategy of expanding its engineering services in India.

It will set up an engineering centre in the city of Bangalore to cater to Rolls-Royce design and engineering requirements.

Rolls-Royce said that it chose to partner with TCS because of its technical and project management capabilities, following a comprehensive and competitive evaluation process.

“India is a strategically significant market as well as an increasingly important technology services location for Rolls-Royce,” said Anil Shrikhande, president at Rolls-Royce India.

“The new collaboration with TCS will give us additional quality and cycle-time advantages.”

British aircraft engine maker Rolls-Royce made its name on the back of its car division, Rolls-Royce Motors, which was separated from the parent company in 1973. It now has related businesses in the defence aerospace, marine and energy markets.

TCS said that aerospace and defence sectors have been a major focus and that it has significantly expanded its engineering capabilities in these sectors.
