Co-Op Group gets single view of customer data

Data hub stores trading data from over 3,000 shops

The Co-Operative Group, which owns food, pharmaceutical and travel businesses, has implemented a data hub to deliver a single view of customer information.

The hub integrates information on over 2.5 million customers from different applications in its retail and financial services businesses.

It will allow the Co-Op Group to build a more accurate picture of its customers and is the first stage of its strategy to increase growth.

The company receives trading data from more than 3000 high street outlets each day but to understand their buying patterns would require significant integration between a variety of applications.

The Co-Op Group chose an Oracle Customer Data Hub because it already uses a number of Oracle products, making integration easier.

It is also using the Oracle Customer Relationship Management suite including teleservice, I-scripting and survey, datawarehouse builder, campaign management and email centre applications.

‘Oracle Customer Data Hub gives us a data architecture that will help us to scale our business up and offers us a more sophisticated view of our members,’ said Co-Op head of group marketing programmes and operations Andrew Kemp.

‘It will help us to deepen our relationships with them, while the other applications allow us to provide a more personal service.’

Oracle Customer Data Hub takes information inputted into various applications and stores a single version of all the relevant customer data in one location. The project was delivered on time and on budget.
