Nearly three-quarters of IT professionals believe that the skills gap in the UK is growing.

The lack of people entering the profession was cited as a major cause of the problem by 55 per cent of those surveyed.

"If the UK is to stay ahead, it needs to attract high quality staff both nationally and internationally. And it needs to tackle the ever-growing skills gap," said Alex Farrell, managing director of The IT Job Board which conducted the research.
