Slough Council overhauls social care software
Berkshire town plans integration of child and adult services information
Slough Borough Council is upgrading its social care systems to provide a fully integrated case management service for adults and children.
The system will enable the local authority's social services department to share information on child and adult cases and weigh-up the financial costs of individual care plans.
As well as linking the council to East Berkshire's existing adult electronic Single Assessment Process, the system will also comply with the government's Integrated Children's System and Common Assessment Framework agendas.
The Liquidlogic -provided system will allow practitioners to spend more time on the delivery of care, says Slough Borough Council chief executive and strategic director for community & cultural services, Dawn Warwick.
'It will be a huge step forward, along with the degree of financial control that the integrated system promises,' she said.
