CA consolidates recovery

Operational efficiencies underpin solid financial quarter

CEO Swainson has reduced CA's costs

CA revenue for the third quarter was $1.1bn (£561m), a rise of 10 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Operating income was $300m (£153m), up 42 per cent, representing a margin of 27 per cent, a six per cent rise year-on-year.

Since taking over in 2004, CA chief executive John Swainson has successfully reduced the company’s costs by cutting jobs, re-organising sales structure and moving some offices outside the US.

Last year saw former chief executive Sanjay Kumar begin a 12-year prison sentence for accountancy fraud.
