Lyquidity extends spreadsheet control

The vendor has released a module that lets firms embed spreadsheet control and auditing capabilities within their existing content and document management systems

Corporate governance software specialist Lyquidity Solutions has today launched a new module for its ComplyXL spreadsheet management suite designed to allow firms to embed spreadsheet control and auditing capabilities within their existing content and document management systems.

The company said the new Software Development Kit (SDK) for ComplyXL would help bolster firms' regulatory compliance efforts by allowing them to extend the functionality of their content management suite to deliver role-based security around spreadsheets and provide an audit trail for all spreadsheet changes.

"Some tools for spreadsheet control and compliance require that organisations implement a second, dedicated, content management system," said Bill Seddon, chief executive of Lyquidity. "[The SDK for ComplyXL] allows an organisation to derive further benefit from its current investment and leverage its existing skillset rather than reinvest and retrain."

Sandy Marshall, product manager at Lyquidity, said that the SDK had already been used by the vendor to extend the spreadsheet control capabilities of Microsoft SharePoint Services "so that users can review and visualise the changes made over time to spreadsheets held in a SharePoint document library".

The company said the new toolset would be available free of charge to existing ComplyXL customers.
