O2 sharpens business focus
Better training for staff and closer relationships with vendors such as Microsoft will be key
Mobile operator O2 has announced a new strategy to “meet the challenge of UK corporates’ changing mobile needs”. O2 highlighted three changes that it said would help it attract more business users.
First, O2 will establish a sales academy run by business training company Imparta, O2’s UK general manager for business sales, Ben Dowd, said this “would provide mentoring and coaching aimed at providing an understanding of the businesses we’re trying to sell to”.
Second, Dowd described a “more IT-focused consultative approach to sales”, similar to that which has proved successful at BT Global Services. O2 said this was exemplified by its recent announcement of an exclusive partnership with UK wholesale distributor Westcoast
Third, O2 was recently accredited as a Microsoft Certified Partner. “This is a recognition that partnerships are key,” it said.
