New mini PC can run Vista
The pocket-sized OQO Model 2 can run the Vista operating system
Hardware firm OQO has unveiled a second-generation model of its ultra-compact PC, adding a faster processor and compatibility with Windows Vista.
The OQO Model 02, due to ship by the end of March, weighs about 450g and is small enough to fit into a large pocket. Like the earlier Model 01, it has a 5in touch screen, but has been given a boost in processing power with a 1.5GHz VIA C7 processor, 1GB memory and a 60GB hard drive. This specification is enough to enable the new hardware to run Vista, OQO said.
Unlike some other models of ultra-mobile PC, the OQO Model 02 has a slide-out qwerty keyboard. It also has 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless. It will be available from reseller Expansys for £944.
