AIM firms need web sites, says LSE
Listed companies have only one more week to comply or face being withdrawn
The LSE is getting tough on companies without websites
Companies without web sites that are listed on the Alternative Investment Market (Aim) are being warned they must provide one by August 20th.
The London Stock Exchange (LSE) has issued a third letter to the brokers which float the businesses to ensure that the deadline set in February is met.
'A few do not have web sites at all, but many that do have sites that do not adhere to the specific terms of our rules,' said a spokesman for the LSE.
'Companies have had six months to sort this out.'
The LSE's 'Rule 26' regulation specifies that a firm's web site provides adequate information such as financial reports and directors' names, to encourage investor confidence.
The LSE says companies failing to comply could have their listings withdrawn.
