Spurs tightens email defence

System gives users a daily summary of refused spam

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club has upgraded security software to limit unsolicited emails and cut the number of genuine messages that are filtered out.

The system, provided by security specialist Network Box, gives users a daily summary of refused spam, so they can check for false-positive rejections.

‘The management of spam was becoming problematic,’ said Spurs IT manager Philip Rose.

‘Previously, to find a false positive, I had to locate the message in a global dustbin with thousands of emails that had been caught by the filter.’

Users are also immediately notified of new email and internet security threats, rather than relying on weekly updates.
