Legal & General launches online sales system

Insurance firm automates application monitoring with web tool for financial advisers

L&G's new system will "make advisers' lives easier"

Insurance firm Legal & General (L&G) has rolled out an online point-of-sale (POS) business tool which allows financial advisers to better manage application processes.

The system allows advisers to quote and apply for up to 40 protection products and improved point-of-sale underwriting features and is enhanced with real-time visibility.

Following an initial trial period which included Lifesearch and Direct Life & Pensions, phased implementation of the system is taking place at the firm's various partners during this year.

"[The system] represents a major new investment for L&G to make advisers' lives easier by opening up our whole back-office system to them," said L&G managing director of protection Bernie Hickman.

"Everything about the system is designed to make doing business with us simpler, faster, more efficient and with a greater degree of visibility and control.

"For the first time, advisers will be able to log in to monitor and progress applications without having to keep phoning us up."
