Fresh food company in e-procurement drive
Bakkavor installs new software to make purchasing easier
A leading provider of fresh prepared foods and produce is to install e-procurement software to allow employees to more easily order items such as stationery, maintenance equipment and supplies.
Bakkavor will use the system to support more than 400 users at 21 sites across the UK, with staff able to find and order products using an internet web browser.
The company’s dispersed businesses and large number of users means a system that requires minimal training is essential, says Bakkavor spokesman Anthony Bowdidge.
‘The no training promise was instrument in our choice of Wax Digital software,’ he said. ‘It has an excellent reputation for delivering powerful, easy-to-use purchasing systems into organisations such as ours.
‘We were impressed with the success the company had in controlling indirect spend and maximising purchasing at Associated British Foods’ large business structure.'
The new system will give staff easier and quicker access to approved supplier catalogues and provides Bakkavor with a clear understanding of spending patterns, says Bowdidge.
