Computerised government in 2005

The Government must accept a range of different channels for delivering services if IT is to be used to make improvements and cut annual #32.5bn civil service costs. The claims come from William Heath, director of government IT specialist Kable, which has just published a report, Citizen Direct, looking at computerised government in 2005. Public services minister David Clark stressed that technology has the power to change the present face of the civil service.
