Pocket disk carries it all

Seagate's FreeAgent Go storage device lets users carry their Windows desktop

Seagate has introduced portable storage devices that let professionals carry their Windows desktop environment around with them.

The FreeAgent Go lets users take their Web favourites, passwords and settings, IM, email, contacts and digital files without needing to carry a laptop. Data can be accessed by plugging the FreeAgent Go into any Windows PC with a USB 2.0 port.

During a session, private information and personalised settings are stored on the FreeAgent Go drive, not on the host computer, according to Seagate. Once unplugged, no passwords, files, or Web browsing history are left behind on the guest computer.

Available from February, FreeAgent Go ships in 80GB, 120GB and 160GB versions with prices starting at $129.99 (£70). An ultra-compact version, FreeAgent Go Small, stores up to 12GB and costs $139.99 (£73).
