Fast and Infospace announce mobile collaboration
Enterprise search giant Fast to work with Infospace on white label ASP search tool
Enterprise search specialist Fast has announced it is teaming up with mobile platform services provider InfoSpace to produce a new white label ASP search service that will enable mobile phone carriers to provide their own branded search experience to customers, rather than those of third party vendors, such as Google.
The service will offer customers increased relevancy and personalisation, meaning users' previous searches will be remembered and used to inform future searches, according to Fast's senior director of business development, Mike Brady.
"We've looked closely at the user experience and intelligently integrated off-deck content then built in a WAP index and integrated web content," he said. "We've had great success with the platform to date, but InfoSpace's experience of user interface on mobiles gives us more flexibility on how we can do this."
InfoSpace has 10 years' experience of delivering mobile applications and also brings with it a metasearch relationship with Google, Yahoo, MSN and Ask, he added.
