Pocket hard drive stores up to 12GB

As well as storing files, Verbatim's new 12GB USB pocket hard drive enables users to download a range of applications and run them directly from the device

Verbatim has updated its range of USB pocket hard drives with a 12GB version that is ideal for carrying large volumes of files or transferring data from one system to another, according to Verbatim.

The Hi-Speed Store 'n' Go USB 2.0 HD devices are based on 1in hard disk drive technology and weigh just 28 grams. The new model costs about £100 and can store up to12GB of files, allowing workers to carry their work environment with them on the road without needing to take a laptop.

While the drive can be used simply as extra storage, it also comes with Verbatim’s Mobile Launchpad software that enables users to download applications and run them directly from the device. Available applications include photo databases, password management tools, email clients and IP telephony software, the company said.
