VoIP software suite calls up Windows servers
FrontRange's updated IP Office Suite links to Microsoft's Live Communications Server
Service management and CRM vendor FrontRange has launched a complete telephony system for distributed enterprises, and for small and medium-sized organisations.
Called IP Office Suite 5.0, the software is an all-in-one business phone system that runs on a single Windows server. It includes a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-based softswitch, unified voice messaging and email integration.
Clients get a software phone application, desktop-based recording on demand and web-based self administration. There is also support for desktop IP handsets using SIP, and the package has built in integration with Microsoft Outlook and Exchange through integration with Microsoft Live Communications Server (LCS).
Alastair Trower, FrontRange product marketing manager, said, “We’re providing full office telephony functions, but based in software. It requires a basic Windows server and the only other thing required is an IP trunk coming into your business. If you’ve only got an E1/T1 coming in then you’d need a SIP gateway.”
Trower added that IP Office Suite 5.0 does not require LCS, but for those businesses that have already invested in Microsoft’s product, the FrontRange suite offers “seamless integration”.
