Virgin Media splits IT leader role as CTO departs
Two new roles created as part of planned handover at cable TV giant
Virgin Media has a new IT structure
Virgin Media’s chief technology officer, Howard Watson, has left the company, with his role being split into two new positions as part of a planned re-organisation of IT responsibilities at the cable TV provider.
Watson’s successors are Martin Wyke, in the role of chief technology and information officer, and Jeff Wollen as executive director of change.
Both were brought in by Watson as part of a handover process in advance of his departure.
Watson came into Virgin Media from Telewest, which later merged with NTL to form the UK’s largest cable TV company.
