NetApp reports revenue and profit rise
Hardware and software sales healthy, net income up 10 per cent
NetApp: Ongoing investment in expanding global reseller programme
Storage specialist NetApp saw revenue for the first quarter of fiscal year 2009 rise 26 per cent to $869m (£464m) compared with $689m (£368m) a year ago.
Net income rose 10.5 per cent to $38m (£20m) from $34m (£18m) in the same period, suggesting the company may be shipping higher volumes of its NAS hardware and storage management software at lower prices.
The quarter also saw NetApp invest heavily in expanding its global reseller programme to compete with rivals such as EMC, HP, Hitachi Data Systems and IBM.
