Battersea Power Station embraces online collaboration
Parkview uses web for better project management
Parkview International, the company behind the redevelopment of Battersea Power Station, has implemented an online content management system to keep all its key stakeholders informed about redevelopment plans.
Parkview’s web site will be communication hub for businesses pitching tenders and local community enquiries.
Jade Bell, senior multi-media designer for Parkview International said: ‘Our previous web site was more about design than content – it would have taken us two days to make changes via a third party but the new system means we can make changes instantly in-house by allowing non-technical staff to upload information.’
Bell says the information management system will enable Parkview to manage the project more effectively.
‘In the early stages of the project there wasn’t nearly the amount of people involved that there are today which means it’s now essential for us to communicate a vast amount of information immediately,’ said Bell.
Over the next six months the company will develop several micro-sites to inform the general public about sales, leasing and residential opportunities.
The content management system comprises three integrated web-applications for running online communication and marketing functions.
Web site management includes wysiwyg editing, automatic image optimisation, search engine optimisation and approval workflow.
‘We used to have an employee resizing and approving images for use by employees, external contractors and other purposes for about 1.5 hours per day – now they can do it themselves,’ said Bell.
Brandworkz, the web content management system supplied by GlobusMedia significantly reduces the risk of using expired copyright materials and ensures materials are available to users in the required format at all times.
Content is managed and accessed through an intuitive web-browser interface ensuring users have access to artwork while providing security options for use of sensitive artwork.
The software allows customers to interact with the web site, uses corporate templates ensuring consistency across the brand. An email management system also allows targeted email campaigns – the email, image and content management systems are all integrated forming a complete content management solution.
