Oracle unveil new performance management tools

Integrates Hyperion technoolgy and Fusion middleware

Oracle is to deliver a new enterprise performance management suite, based on its Hyperion business intelligence technology and its Fusion middleware.

The new Oracle Enterprise Performance Management suite will improve firms' ability to optimise business performance, the company claimed.

“At the moment organisations have aligned reporting processes because of Sarbanes-Oxley but across the organisation there is less strategy,” said Oracle senior vice president, John Kopcke, at the EPM System launch. “All employees need to be on the same page,” he added. Kopcke called the extended performance management system “management excellence” because it would allow organisations to tightly align all business process.

It has also released new Profitability and Cost Management tools which gives users clear visibility into the cost of business activities across the organisation, along with a new Essbase Studio, which it makes it easier to deploy and management of analytical applications.

“One of the common pitfalls in cost and profitability management is that it is often managed in disparate spreadsheets – creating inconsistent views of cost drivers,” said Robert Gersten, Oracle EPM Development senior vice president.

A Calculation Manager will allow users to define rules across an organisation’s processes, and a new Common Web workspace with a Microsoft Office interface “allows users to continually use Excel for analysis,” said Thomas Kurian, Senior Vice President, Oracle Server Technologies Development.

“We have announced new products to bring together a single management system,” Kurian added.
