Newcastle venue stages new voice and data services

Metro Radio Arena improved ticket booking processes

Metro Radio Arena has signed a deal with ntl:Telewest Business

Newcastle conference and exhibition centre the Metro Radio Arena is processing ticket sales and customer enquiries faster using new voice and data services.

The venue, the largest in the north east with a capacity of 11,400, has installed ntl:Telewest Business’ inbound call management service to more efficiently route box office calls.

The system has the flexibility to cope with peaks in demand for major events which make ticket booking offices one of the most demanding telephony applications.

Paul Tappenden, marketing director for the Metro Radio Arena, said: ‘The ticket hotline is one of the main opportunities that we have to interact with our customers, apart from when they come to an event, so it is critical that calls are answered quickly and routed properly.’

‘Getting tickets can be a frustration for fans wanting to go to any show, and we’re doing all we can to make the experience easier. The power and the sophistication of the ntl:Telewest Business services ensures that we are able to maintain high levels of customer service and satisfaction,’ he said.
