BT adds US consultants

BT has agreed to acquire consultancy firm International Network Services

BT has agreed to acquire consultancy firm International Network Services (INS) for an undisclosed sum. The deal was described as a bid to boost BT's presence in the US and add expertise to its current global consulting capabilities.

INS specialises in four major areas: enterprise architecture and governance; business productivity; information risk management; and infrastructure transformation.

The company employs 900 people, including 640 consultants, mainly based in North America, though it does have offices in Europe serving US companies with an international presence.

Whether any of those consultants' knowledge will be available to BT Global Services' UK or European customers remains to be seen.

"In the broadest sense, it does not matter where that expertise is applied, but we are really looking to double our US revenues in three years, from around $3bn today," commented a BT spokesperson.
