Starbucks signs global outsourcing deal
Unisys to simplify coffee retailer's IT infrastructure to support worldwide growth
Coffee chain Starbucks has signed an outsourcing deal with IT services firm Unisys to support its global expansion plans from 3,600 outlets to more than 20,000 worldwide.
Unisys will simplify the deployment and management of IT infrastructure services in all international Starbucks outlets, support centres and manufacturing facilities.
The vendor will also provide enhanced support to Starbucks’ helpdesk, data centre services, network and server monitoring and support, equipment procurement and maintenance, asset tracking and global programme management.
‘Our global IT infrastructure programme delivers standard services to international markets in support of our growth targets,’ said Starbucks chief information officer Brian Crynes. ‘We chose Unisys based on our confidence in their global service delivery model.’
Unisys will also provide IT security services for Starbucks North American outlets.
