Council captures electronic documents
Caerphilly chooses integrated documents and records management
Caerphilly County Council is installing a new corporate electronic document and records management system for 2800 users in its revenue and benefits division.
The system, which is designed to improve efficiencies and customer service across the organisation, is expected to be integrated into existing applications by May.
By combining document and records management into one system, the council will be able to manage material at every stage from creation to destruction.
Caerphilly has 74,000 council tax payers, administers 20,000 housing and council tax benefit claims and 4,500 business rates accounts.
The first phase of the programme will be to install the technology into nine early adopter departments, with a full rollout across to follow.
The five year contract is valued at £250,000 for the first year, rising to £500,000 over the length of the contract. The system is being provided by Idox.
