JDA to acquire Manugistics

Acquisition will create largest supply chain specialist, firms claim

Supply chain firm JDA Software has bought rival Manugistics in a $211m (£118m) deal.

JDA chief executive Hamish Brewer says the combined software company will offer the market a greater depth of products than any other competitor.

'This deal is as close to a perfect match as you can get for an acquisition of this size. This combination translates into substantial synergies that will transform JDA’s earnings power over time,' he said.

Manugistics chief Joe Cowan says merging with JDA is the best path forward for his company.

'By joining with JDA we can ensure that our customers will be able to count on a supply chain leader with the financial strength to extend and enhance our solutions and services globally,' he said.
