Jaguar Land Rover begins IT migration

Move of more than 1,000 IT systems from former parent Ford expected to complete within 18 months

TCS will support the Ford-Tata IT systems migration

Jaguar Land Rover has signed a managed services contract with supplier Incat, which will include key areas of the Ford-Tata Motors IT migration process.

The news follows the completion the sale of Jaguar and Land Rover to Tata Motors earlier this year, and the need for joined-up systems.

During a five-year contract, Incat will support the consolidated group in the migration of over 1,000 IT applications from Ford into the new Jaguar Land Rover systems environment.

The transition project, fore is said to involve up to 100 outsourced staff, as well as in-house workers and other infrastructure partners and suppliers. Completion is forecast in 18 months’ time.

The contract will also involve the provision of ongoing support for the transitioned applications, which will involve a 250-strong outsourced workforce in the UK and at group company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

For that particular element of the contract, the main goal is to gain expertise of the applications from the Ford suppliers to then manage support provision to equivalent service levels.
