Wolverhampton transforms information sharing

Local council to install case management system

Council's software should improve efficiency

Wolverhampton City Council (WCC) is implementing a case management system across its social care departments to improve efficiency and information sharing.

The council will install OLM Group’s CareFirst software to enable a transformation programme across its Adult & Communities and Children and Young People’s social care departments, under the terms of an 18 month contract which includes consultancy services.

CareXchange, OLM’s multi-agency integration framework will connect five core systems across the council including Education, Health and Youth Offending while other OLM modules will support specific aspects of service delivery such as mobile working.

The technology will help WCC respond to changing service needs and drive greater performance by providing 1,000 council staff with the necessary facilities to store, analyse, gather and share information effectively.

Richard Carr, chief executive of WCC, says the council found OLM could offer a strong and flexible system and enable greater efficiencies in its front line services.

‘This initiative forms a key part of our modernisation agenda and will allow us to significantly improve the services we can provide to our service users,’ he said.
