CA launches SOA management tools
Wily SOA Manager supports compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and Itil guidelines
Management software vendor CA has launched a tool to help firms manage their service-oriented architecture (SOA) environments.
Wily SOA Manager is designed to track the performance of SOA transactions and business processes across different systems and stages, identify dependencies among web services, and alert IT staff to potential problems via a set of pre-configured dashboards.
The product also features a customisable reporting facility, which supports compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and Itil IT service management guidelines.
As well as monitoring SOA components, the tool offers insight into web applications and the back-end systems connected to them, CA said.
“Because web services operate in the context of existing, heterogeneous applications, companies require management capabilities at every level of their application infrastructure,” said Mike Malloy, vice-president and head of products at CA Wily. “Wily SOA Manager meets this challenge by providing IT teams with a single lens that brings the performance of their entire enterprise into focus.”
Wily SOA Manager is only available as an add-on for the Wily Introscope enterprise application management system, which was acquired by CA at the start of 2006 as part of its Wily purchase. The new release supports a range of technology platforms, including BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, NetWeaver and Microsoft .NET, and is slated for availability in early April.
