Morrisons drives fuel business forward

Supermarket signs five year deal to support new business fuel card

Morrisons Supermarkets has signed a five year deal to provide support and business account services for its new Business Fuel Card.

Following its acquisition of Safeway, Morrisons intends to expand its retail fuel business and is launching the new business-to-business fuel card.

Atos Worldline, an Atos Origin company, will manage the card, which is the first in the UK retail fuel market to be EMV compliant and chip-and-PIN based.

The new system will provide transaction authorisation, data acquisition, application processing and fulfilment, credit checking and insurance, account holder management plus merchant reimbursement of all card payment transactions.

It also manages credit and debt risk and provides customer support services.
